Tickling family day

True to its tradition, Zoo Debrecen will put birds in the spotlight at its first event of the year, the Chirping Family Day, held on January 25 and 26, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The now two-day program offers a fantastic opportunity for both children and adults to get a glimpse into the lives of birds spending the winter at home and their exotic relatives.

January 25 (Saturday)

All-day activities (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM):

• Which bird species are we thinking of? – Pick up a free activity sheet at the ticket office.

• Step into the shoes of an ethologist – Observe the behavior of our birds with a free activity sheet.

Lectures and guided tours:

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM – How to create a bird-friendly garden? (Bird-Friendly Garden)
10:45 AM – Meet the birds of the African aviary
11:20 AM – Raven feeding demonstration
2:15 PM - 2:45 PM – Meet our feathered friends: guided tour starting from the main entrance
2:30 PM – Penguin presentation

Craft workshops and interactive programs

(10:00 AM - 3:00 PM):

• Interactive craft workshop (Gibbon House)

• Owl pellet examination (Zoo Corner)

• Feathers and eggs: educational science activity (Zoo Corner)
