Open Stables Weekend in Hortobágy

February 22-23, 2025 (Saturday-Sunday)

A festive opening weekend at the Csárda with foals, lambs, and other baby animals! The stables of Mátai Ménes, the sheepfolds of Szatmáritelek, and the barns of the Puszta Animal Park will open their doors to visitors.

On February 22-23, 2025, guests can explore the winter wonders of Hortobágy and meet this year’s youngest arrivals—foals, Racka lambs, Mangalica piglets, as well as fluffy chicks, ducklings, goslings, and baby goats—under the guidance of shepherds and animal caretakers.

The event’s central location and the starting and ending point for tours is the Tourinform Hortobágy building. Meanwhile, the Hortobágyi Csárda, located in the village center, will also reopen its doors for the 2025 season, filling the air with the lively tunes of traditional gypsy music.
